Valentine’s Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake With Flake Pieces, Cadbury Dairy Milk Crazy Paving’s And Crunchie Bits

Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan.

Mix the flour, cocoa powder, caster sugar, light brown sugar, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, salt and espresso powder with an electric mixer.

Mix veg oil, eggs, vanilla, buttermilk.

Add the coffee and mix.

Add mixture to 3 lined cake tins (500g each) and bake for 22 mins. Allow to fully cool while you make the buttercream

Add butter, sugar and cocoa powder to a mix and beat until light and fluffy. Add cream to lighten and finish with salt.

Ice the cake and finish with flake, crunchie, buttons and hearts.

- 300 g plain flour
- 100 g Bournville Cocoa Powder
- 200 g caster sugar
- 150 g light brown sugar
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp espresso powder
- 150 ml vegetable oil
- 3 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 240 ml buttermilk, at room temperature
- 240 ml freshly brewed strong hot coffee (regular or decaf)
- Chocolate Buttercream:
- 250 g unsalted butter
- 400 g confectioners’ sugar
- 50 g Bournville CocoaPowder
- 4 tbsp (45-75 ml) double cream
- 0.25 tsp salt
- handful Cadbury Flake pieces
- handful Cadbury Crunchie Bits pieces
- handful Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons
- sugar hearts
